Dec. 10 (Wed) – SAISD Winter Dyslexia Family Night

SAISD Disability Services is hosting the Winter Dyslexia Night to provide valuable insights to parents and guardians to help them understand dyslexia. They will also provide technology resources families can use to support their students at home.

Dec. 10 (Wed) – Bond 2020 Virtual Community Updates

The SAISD Bond Team is hosting their Bond 2020 Community Update sessions virtually. The sessions will be an opportunity for the community to receive the latest updates regarding Bond 2020 projects and to have their questions answered by the Bond team.

Dec. 11 (Thurs) – SAISD schools present “The Wizard of Oz”
7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Edison High School, 701 Santa Monica St., 78212
This is a collaborative performance of the Wizard of Oz with Tommy Bowl rival schools Edison High School and Jefferson High School. The performances on stage will feature Edison and Jefferson actors on stage and tech crews behind the curtains. “We may be rivals at the Tommy Bowl, but on stage, we're one big family!" said Edison theatre director Genevieve Rodriguez who is a Golden Bear alumna from the Class of 2010.

Dec. 12 (Fri) – Tafolla Middle School NAMI Completion Ceremony
2:30 p.m., Tafolla Middle School, 1303 W. Cesar Chavez Blvd., 78207
This event will honor Tafolla Middle School AVID 6th grade students who have successfully completed the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons provided through a partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Students will receive certificates in recognition of their hard work, growth, and commitment to emotional well-being. “We are incredibly proud of our students for embracing these important skills that support their mental health and success both in and out of the classroom,” said Terry Sanchez, Student Engagement Facilitator at Tafolla Middle School.
