Advanced Learning Academy to host delegation from Taiwan for sister-school signing ceremony

CAST Schools and the Advanced Learning Academy, in partnership with the City of San Antonio, will host a sister-school signing ceremony with Kaohsiung Municipal Rueisiang Senior High School, a public high school in Taiwan.

• Educators and students from both schools

The signing on Thursday, July 30, will formally launch the partnership between the two schools.

The sister-school signing ceremony will be held at the Learning Staircase at the Advanced Learning Academy. The delegation from both Kaohsiung and San Antonio will include city representatives, educators and students.

“This event represents an exciting international partnership and an opportunity to highlight the global connections being created for San Antonio students,” said CAST Schools Executive Director Jennifer Maestas.

The sister-school partnership will focus on fostering global learning, cultural understanding, and student collaboration. It is expected to create opportunities for virtual exchanges, project-based learning experiences, cultural sharing activities, student-to-student communication, and professional collaboration among educators.

The process of collaboration began earlier this year as part of a broader initiative facilitated by the City of San Antonio and its sister city, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Kaohsiung and San Antonio have been sister cities since 1982.
