Fourteen students from Lanier High School, Rhodes Middle School, Sam Houston High School and Davis Middle School attended a two-week STEM Summer Camp at UTSA Downtown focusing on Construction of Transportation Infrastructure. Students learned about various career pathways in the construction of transportation infrastructure and conducted site visits including a behind-the-scenes look at the San Antonio Riverwalk. At the conclusion of the camp, students presented their learnings at a showcase and received awards for their work during the week. First place went to Emerald from Lanier, second place went to Shahzad from Rhodes, and third place went to Laysha from Rhodes. “This camp was an exciting, real-world experience for students interested in participating in a construction program of study at SAISD,” CTE Special Populations Program Coordinator Fred Losoya said.
