Cardinal Family, Just sending out some friendly reminders about the events that are taking place on campus this week. 10/30: Trunk or Treat 🎃 🍬 and Haunted House 👻 🏚️ 10/31: Halloween shirts 👚 socks 🧦 and accessories. Students must wear uniform bottoms and shoes in dress code. No face painting/masks allowed. 11/1: Saturday School from 9-12 Other events are in the October Cardinal Monthly-Check it out!

We have to give a shout out to Class of 2027 who have been contributing all month long to stuff the fridge❤️ 💙The addition of fresh fruits 🍎 🍇 , cheeses 🧀 baked goods 🍩 🥯 🧁 , and specialty drinks 🥤 have been wonderful for staff! Thank you for all those who have sent in items 🫶🏼 November is Class of 2028's turn and in December we are asking parents to just take care of their individual student's teachers or staff members on campus who they feel go the extra mile! Hard to believe we are already talking about December 🫣 ❄️ 🌲

Here are October's Students and Staff of the Month! This month we asked staff members to nominate students/staff who exhibit the character of Empathy! Mrs. Vogel was recognized for being a supportive and consistent listening ear for her colleagues. Our students P. Vigil and M. Garcia also stood out among their peers when it came to their social emotional intelligence and interactions with others. Being a leader encompasses being able to understand and identify with the feelings of others. Great job! Special thanks to PTSA for their support in supplying the gift bags and $25 gift cards!

Let's send our XC team all the positive vibes and well wishes we can! Tomorrow they will run in the regional meet. Today after safely arriving in Corpus they took some time for some fun and making memories ❤️ Lady Cardinals just know we are already extremely proud of what you all have accomplished!

We are always recognizing our students for ATTENDANCE! The goal is always 98% or better. This week we not only did our usual awards but we decided to throw in an extra special recognition. Any students who had perfect attendance and no tardies received $5 in Fall Carnival tickets to spend. This coming week we will recognize our 1st 9 week perfect attendance with ice cream 🍦on Thursday!

TOMORROW: Monday (Oct. 20) , make dinner plans to join us at Raising Cane’s (106 St. Cloud) to support the Class of 2030. From 4-9 p.m., mention YWLA or the fundraiser when ordering in the restaurant or drive-thru and Cane’s will donate a portion of the proceeds from your order to benefit our 8th grade Cardinals. We hope to see you there!

The campus was closed for a grand total of 11 hours and we are here back at it! Today we hosted our campus beautification, math competition and the Class of 2026 sausage wrap sale! You can get your sausage wraps until 1:00 pm.

Last night we were having too much fun we did not get to post in the moment but rest assure we had a great time! We have to give the most praise to our volunteers who allowed this to be possible for our girls! We also were treated to a special spooky 👻 performance by our YWLA dance teams.

Fall Carnival is almost ready to welcome students, families and our community from 3:45 to 7:00! Come on out for food and fun! Bring your cash 💵 , cards 💳 and cash app because we take it all!!!! Proceeds go directly back to supporting our students! Thank you to PTSA and all our parent volunteers!

Fall Carnival Information:
All students will be able to participate in Fall Carnival for the last hour of the school day! Students will be permitted to be in the amended dress code on Friday, October 17th, 2025. Please ensure your student meets dress code guidelines prior to leaving in the morning or they will not be able to participate in the carnival.
Students will be allowed to wear the following and should come to school already dressed in attire for the school carnival:
1. Regular school uniform with polo or spirit shirt
2. YWLA issued Athletic/PE bottoms with a polo or spirit shirt - Must have the YWLA logo on the bottoms
3. Tennis shoes may be worn in lieu of the regular dress code shoes
Students may not wear jeans, leggings, non school PE/Athletic bottoms, boots, sandals, crocs, clogs or slides. Additionally, students will not be permitted to change into cloths at the end of the school day and must come to school already dressed. Students are to be responsible for their items at all times during the carnival.

🚨 GREAT NEWS TO SHARE 🚨 Our Varsity 🏃‍♀️ XC 🏃‍♀️ Lady Cardinals have advanced to REGIONALS! We are so proud of the work of both JV and Varsity this season. Today Varsity took the 🥉 spot and JV took the 🥈 Yet another example of GIRL POWER as these girls are making moves both in and out of the classroom.

Tomorrow PTSA will begin their Fall Carnival ticket pre-sales. This will take place everyday after school from October 6th - 16th. Pre-sale tickets have a bonus ticket at the rate of 6 Tickets for $5. PTSA will take cash or card ONLY. Pay apps such as Cash App will not be available to purchase tickets at any time. Please see the attached concessions flyer to determine how many tickets your student may need. In addition to food there will games/activities that will also require tickets. When that price list becomes available we will share that with you.
Tickets will be available the day of the carnival at the regular dollar for dollar rate and can be purchased CASH ONLY, please get tickets in advance and avoid the lines!
