Latest Updates

Fall 2020:

Project progression continues with the completion of the kitchen and student dining areas. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing, tape and float, paint and ceilings installation ongoing on the second floor. The learning stair has been poured, and science Lab cabinets are being installed. Storefront Doors and window installation is in progress. Brick Remediation has started on the North side of the building.

05.11.19: Community Open House held for members of the community to get a glimpse of the construction that will update Lanier High School, while taking time to view the campus many folks remember. The open house featured awards that students have won throughout the years, tours of the classrooms, a discussion on the Bond project, remarks from campus and District leaders, a historical lookback at Lanier, and fine arts displays including live musical performances and artwork.

Renovating the main building at Lanier HS will be challenging due to its historic auditorium and lack of windows in the building. The design team is reviewing the current Bond project scope, and is looking at a previous programming survey to provide an overview of the current building design process.

Renovations and upgrades to include:

  • Classroom spaces (general learning, science, fine arts, special education)
  • Restrooms
  • Cafeteria/kitchen
  • Auditorium
  • Heating, ventilation and air conditioning
  • Plumbing and electrical
  • Technology infrastructure for new and renovated spaces
  • Lighting
  • Fire sprinkler systems
  • Special needs accessibility in entryways, restrooms, and other areas
  • Front-entry modifications to improve security
  • Athletic track re-coating
  • Roofing, building exterior and site improvements
