Qualifications for in-demand jobs


I qualify for this position if I have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the applicant

  • Statement of Eligibility from Alternative Certification Program (if applicable)

SAISD is designated as a District of Innovation (DOI).  This designation allows the district to hire Fine Arts, Career and Technical Education, Math, Science, and Spanish teachers, who do not hold a teacher certification but meet the education and/or work experience required for the DOI exemption.  Individuals hired under the DOI exemption are required to attend training to support their entry into the teaching profession and are encouraged to work toward teacher certification.

I qualify for this position if I have: 

  • Minimum of forty-eight (48) semester college level hours from an accredited college or university or
  • Passed the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) test or
  • Completed the “Treasuring our Paraprofessionals” Training at Region 20
  • Satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the applicant

  • Proof of Passing TABE test; Completion of “Treasuring Our Paraprofessional” Training or Unofficial college or university transcripts showing a completion of 48 semester hours

I qualify for this position if I have: 

  • Minimum Requirements outlined in the job description
  • Satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the applicant

  • Proof of high school diploma/GED
  • Most current/recent Supervisor in the “Reference” section of the application

I qualify for this position if I have: 

  • High school diploma or GED (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency) or higher; and
  • Satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the applicant

My application is complete if I submit: 

  • Proof of high school diploma/GED
  • Most current/recent Supervisor in the “Reference” section of the application

I qualify for this position if I have:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or regional accrediting agency) or valid Texas Class “B” or “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
  • Valid Texas Class “B” or “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with required endorsements for school bus driver or class “C” driver’s license. Employee hired with “C” driver’s license must obtain the class “B” CDL license with all required endorsements within 60 calendar days of employment
  • Safe driving record verified by Texas Department of Public Safety (meets and maintains liability coverage eligibility)
  • Satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the applicant

  • Proof of high school diploma/GED and a Class C Texas Driver’s License
  • Most current/recent Supervisor in the “Reference” section of the application

I qualify for this position if I have:

  • High school diploma/GED if applicable
  • Valid Class C Driver’s License (if applicable)
  • Satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check
  • Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the applicant
