What is TCLAS High Impact Tutoring?
After the Bell Tutoring is a high-impact tutoring program funded by the Texas Covid Learning Acceleration Supports(TCLAS) Grant through the Texas Education Agency (TEA). According to TEA, "high-impact tutoring leads to substantial learning gains for a student's classroom experience". The 2022-2023 school year is the second year of the program and it has expanded to 17 campuses throughout the district.

Overview
- Each student participating in After the Bell tutoring will receive 30 hours of high-impact tutoring in math or reading.
- The two research-based tutoring platforms used for this program are Zearn and BookNook, which are also available to all teachers on a participating campus to use during the school day.
- All tutors receive professional development laser-focused on utilizing Zearn and BookNook to deliver high-impact tutoring in a small group setting.
