Social, Emotional, and Academic Development (SEAD) is the integration of all learning dimensions into the educational experience in support of positive outcomes for students through whole-child development. Social, emotional, and academic dimensions are all imperative to long-term success, as they are intricately connected in the way students learn and experience the world, and are mutually beneficial and reinforcing in the educational environment. Within the SEAD framework, multiple other frameworks and strategies reside that schools may implement, such as restorative practices, Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS), and social emotional learning curriculums.
