It promises to be a big Saturday morning for the YWLA-Primary Blue Jays. Students will explore an intergalactic adventure with the StarLab, space-themed activities, animal presentations, and of course, create chalk art!
 
Nov 6 (Mon) – SAISD Foundation 12th annual Inspire Awards
5:45 p.m. to 8 p.m., Mays Center at Witte Museum, 3801 Broadway, 78209
Now in its 12th year, the SAISD Foundation will host its annual Inspire Awards to honor four distinguished San Antonio ISD alumni and one former SAISD board member who has contributed significantly to the school district. This year’s honoree include:  
• Minnie Abrego-Sanchez (Highlands High School)  
• Richard Goldsmith (Jefferson High School)  
• Col. (Retired) Leon Holland and Peggy Drake Holland (both Wheatley High School)  
• Former Trustee Patti Radle (Friend of the Foundation) 
 
Nov 9-11 (Thurs-Sat) – Highland High School theater production: “Noises Off”
7 p.m. Highlands High School, 3118 Elgin Ave., 78210
The Highlands High School Theaters Arts class is set to perform their fall production of the play, “Noises Off.” The Highlands student crew built an elaborate, two-story revolving set. “Noises Off” is a 1982 play by the English playwright Michael Frayn.
 
Nov 11 (Sat) – SAISD students marching in the annual Veterans Day Parade
12 p.m., Downtown San Antonio – Houston St east of Milam Park
SAISD students will have a big presence at the City of San Antonio’s annual Veterans Day Parade in downtown. Eleven SAISD campuses will send their LOTC/JROTC Battalions to take part in the event honoring the services of veterans here in San Antonio and across the nation.
