Nov 11 (Sat) – SAISD students marching in the annual Veterans Day Parade
Noon, Downtown San Antonio – Houston St east of Milam Park

SAISD students will have a big presence at the City of San Antonio’s annual Veterans Day Parade in downtown. Eleven SAISD campuses will send their LOTC Battalions to take part in the event honoring the services of veterans here in San Antonio and across the nation.
 
Nov 13 (Mon) – Pershing Elementary Jacket Jamboree

Nov 14 and 16 (Tues and Thurs) – “Ag in the City” returns to Burbank High School
9:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., Burbank High School, 1002 Edwards St., 78204

For the first time since the pandemic, Burbank High School agriculture science students will welcome elementary students to the Burbank Farm for “Ag in the City”. Two thousand SAISD elementary students will visit the Burbank Farm over the two-day run. Kids will get a chance to engage with chickens, ducks, goats and pigs. Burbank students will take the younger kids through various activities like seed planting, making salsa and even ice cream.
 
Nov 15 (Wed) – SAISD celebrates Texas Recycle Day at Cotton Academy
8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Cotton Academy, 1616 Blanco Rd., 78212

The SAISD Foundation, in partnership with Unilever and H.E.B., are celebrating Texas Recycles Day at Cotton Academy. A ribbon cutting for a new outdoor recreation area on campus that was made with only recyclable materials will precede an awards ceremony for the winning SAISD elementary schools who competed in this fall’s recycle contest. Schools will be awarded up to $10,000 to reward the students’ recycling efforts. Installation of the playground will take place all morning, leading up to the ribbon cutting and awards ceremony set for 12:15 p.m.
 
Nov 16 (Thurs) – Brackenridge High School Theater Arts present “Roja Ridin’ in the Hood”
9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Brackenridge High School, 400 Eagleland Dr., 78210

This is the 10th Annual Children's Show for the Brackenridge Theatre Department. The high school students include some who came to watch a performance at Brackenridge High School as elementary students. The Children's Show is a tradition produced by the advanced Theatre classes at Brack. Elementary schools will be coming to see the live production of “Roja Ridin' in the Hood”.  The first show is at 9:30 a.m.; a second show will be at 11:30 a.m.
