Nov. 20-24 (Mon-Fri) – SAISD Schools and Offices closed for Thanksgiving Break 
All SAISD schools and offices will be closed for the week of Nov. 20-24 for the Thanksgiving break. Normal business hours resume on Monday, Nov. 27.
 
Nov. 27 (Mon) – SAISD Student Teacher Signing Day
5 p.m. to 7 p.m., SAISD Central Office Board Room, 514 W. Quincy, 78212
The SAISD Human Capital Management team will be welcoming the newest class of educators at a Student Teacher Signing Day. The student teachers are committing to stay with the district as full-time certified educators, following their December graduation. 
 
Nov. 28 (Tues) – SAISD Elementary District Spanish Spelling Bee
8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Edison High School, 701 Santa Monica Drive, 78212
Young bilingual spellers, winners at the campus level, will be competing for a district title at the SAISD Elementary Spanish Spelling Bee. The winners from this event will advance to represent the SAISD Familia at the Region 10 Spelling Bee.
 
Nov. 28 (Tues) – SAISD Community Meeting – Rodriguez Montessori Elementary
6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Rodriguez Montessori Elementary, 3626 W. Cesar Chavez, 78207
The Rodriguez Montessori Elementary School community will provide input into the district’s recommendation of co-locating the school at the Ogden campus to ensure an efficient utilization of space. 
 
Nov. 29 (Wed) – SAISD Middle School District Spanish Spelling Bee
8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Edison High School, 701 Santa Monica Drive, 78212
Spanish spelling bee winners at the campus level will be vying for the overall SAISD districtwide crown in the middle school division. The winners from this event will advance to represent the SAISD Familia at the Region 10 Spelling Bee.
 
Nov. 30 (Thurs) – SAISD High School District Spanish Spelling Bee
8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Edison High School, 701 Santa Monica Drive, 78212
Spanish spelling bee winners at the campus level will compete for the overall SAISD district title in the high school division. The winners from this event will advance to represent the SAISD Familia at the Region 10 Spelling Bee.
 
Nov. 30 (Thurs) – Fox Tech High School and San Antonio College H-TECH Kickoff
10 a.m., SAC Allied Health and Nursing Bldg., 1819 N. Main Ave., 78212
San Antonio ISD and Alamo Colleges, along with partners Methodist Healthcare and University Health System, will announce a new nursing pathway for high school students to address the nursing shortage. It’s projected that there will be an annual average of more than 26,000 local registered nursing positions needed by 2030, about an 18.3% increase compared to averages in 2020.

Dec. 2 (Sat) – SAISD Substitute Career Fair
9 a.m. to noon, SAISD Central Office, 514 W. Quincy St., 78212
San Antonio ISD will host a career fair to recruit substitute teachers. On-site interviews will be available.
