Feb. 1 (Thurs) – Leah’s Lego Kits STEAM event at Briscoe Elementary
9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Briscoe Elementary, 2025 S. Flores St., 78204

All Briscoe Elementary first graders will be receiving a free Lego kit courtesy of the “Leah’s Lego Kits” program. Leah Hernandez is a Junior NASA Consultant & Freshman at St. Philip’s Early College High School. “Leah’s Lego Kits” is her personal philanthropy project. Leah’s passion for science took off when she was introduced to her first robot kit in the first grade. The limited access both at school and home to these kits has fueled her passion to put Lego and robot kits into the hands of students in her community. Leah was the victim of a porch pirate who stole a special Lego set. When SAPD Central SAFFE Unit learned about what happened to Leah, SAPD rallied to support her project and began collecting Lego sets on her behalf.
