One local school has planned a neighborhood parade on the eve of what would have been this year’s Battle of Flowers Parade in downtown San Antonio, now rescheduled for November.
Although official Fiesta celebrations will wait until this fall, annual school registrations are ongoing now. In the spirit of Fiesta, Beacon Hill Academy Principal Laryn Nelson rallied her staff and teachers to decorate their vehicles with float flair and registration reminders.
The parade of vehicles will drive through the school’s attendance zone, honking horns and, with windows rolled down, calling out to their families to inspire them to complete the annual registration process. Some cars may even have posters with QR codes to link parents to online registration with just a click.
All SAISD students both new and returning must enroll each year. Families may complete the annual registration process online at www.saisd.net/enroll.
For more information, families may contact their child’s school or call the SAISD Enrollment Office at (210) 554-2660, send a text to (210) 309-3259, or email enroll@saisd.net.
Note: Following social distancing protocols, each staff member will drive separately and all interaction will be from a minimum distance of six feet.
