SAISD Poetry For Every Season - 2023 - 2024

Welcome, dedicated educators, instructional coaches, and instructional specialists,  to SAISD's 'Poetry For Every Season' Poetry Month series – an innovative fusion of verse and educational technology. As we prepare to celebrate National Poetry Month, we're excited to introduce themed poetry accelerators designed for all four seasons leading up to April. By seamlessly integrating traditional classroom instruction with cutting-edge EdTech tools, we engage students, providing diverse texts and enhancing reading comprehension and digital literacy. This approach aligns with SAISD's 'Always Learning' commitment, Technology Application Standards (TA-TEKS), and the R-LA TEKS' focus on literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Each month, we release new, grade-specific accelerator plans (K-2, 3-5, 6-12) right here on our website. Additionally, we offer prep sessions to guide you in implementing these exciting tools at your campus. Join us to experience the poetry accelerators firsthand and gain insights into the technology tools we use. The thrill of preparing for Poetry Month is a year-long journey, leading to a final student poetry project.

Starting April 1st, student submissions for their final published pieces will be open.
