DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP & CYBERSAFETY
To ensure that we successfully prepare students to leverage technology to accelerate learning as identified in the Always Learning Plan blended instruction, it is crucial that students are prepared to safely navigate the digital world. It is the responsibility of all students and SAISD staff members to adhere to the district’s Administrative Guidelines F26, D36, and the student handbook regarding the appropriate use of technology tools, resources, and the internet. Furthermore, it is important to formally teach students about digital citizenship and demonstrate it through year-long modeling and instructional support.
Ready-to-use lessons for grades 3-5 and 6-12 are available through the Canvas Commons to be added by teachers to their Canvas course(s). For PK-K and 1-2 students, their lessons can be found in Seesaw’s School & District Library.
To assess understanding, students in grades 1-12 will complete an online assessment called the Digital Citizenship Student Completion Form via Qualtrics. PK-K teachers will use a separate online form to record completion for their entire class. Click here for more information regarding the Digital Citizenship Lessons for each of the grade levels.
