Campus Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)
- Report issues involving leaks (plumbing, AC, roof, window, etc.) to Facilities Services Dispatch
(210.354.9305) as soon as practicable.
- Create work orders for IAQ (indoor air quality) issues and specify IAQ / mold on the work
order.
- Check all areas / spaces of the campus for leaks, high humidity or other IAQ concerns on
a routine (weekly or monthly) basis, especially before and after SAISD holidays and heavy
rains.
- Minimize allergens such as fragrances in the classroom or office.
- Keep ventilation systems vents & grills clean and clear.
- When environmental conditions permit, open windows near older unit ventilation to bring
in outside air.
- Clean items such as stuffed animals, toys, instructional aides, furniture, etc. used by students
and staff regularly.
- Remove posters from walls at the end of each semester.
- Take personal items home at the end of each school year.
- Do not store items in mechanical rooms.
- Store porous materials (e.g., cardboard, paper, ceiling tile, clothing, etc.) in areas with good
mechanical ventilation and humidity control.
