Information for May 4 Trustee election
Interested in running for the SAISD School Board, see information below – deadline to file is Friday, February 15, 5:00 p.m.
Election Day is Saturday, May 4, 2019. There is no fee for filing and individuals must reside in the single member district for which they file. Length of residency in the Single-Member District (SMD) is 6 months and in the state 12 months. Qualified SAISD residents who reside in and are interested in serving as a Trustee for Single-Member District (SMD) 2, 5, or 6 may file their Candidacy starting Wednesday, January 16 thru Friday, February 15, 2019. A calendar of important 2019 election dates can be found on the Texas Secretary of State web site. A modified calendar of important dates for SAISD School Board Trustee filing is below.
Candidate forms and information guides will be available for pick up on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 during regular business hours at the Office of the Superintendent, 141 Lavaca Street, San Antonio, TX 78210. Forms and information guides are currently available on the Texas Ethics Commission web site.
Filing for SMD Candidacy will take place Monday - Friday during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (except holidays), with the exception of the final day to file, Friday, February 15, when the time will be extended until 5:00 p.m.
- February 15, 2019: Drawing for a Place on the Ballot will take place at 5:15 p.m. at the Office of the Superintendent, 141 Lavaca St. room 103.
Terms expiring for current SAISD Trustees are: District 2, James Howard; District 5, Patti Radle; and District 6, Christina Martinez.
