Chyna Smith

In her own words...

I am grateful and thankful to be in the position to have the chance to get an education. It is really a privilege to be able to go to college and achieve one of my biggest dreams, to have a college degree and a reliable career. I have seen first hand how not having a college degree can affect your life and I don’t want that for myself. I aspire to have a bachelor's degree in Biology.

I aspire to go to PA school where I will learn how to perform medicine and become a better person because of it. I aspire to be a Physician Assistant impacting people's lives for the better. Finishing high school is already one major step in the right direction in becoming a PA. The steps I need to take to ensure I reach my goals are to continue learning and earning an education.

I will also continue to meet new people and make connections. Making connections and forming great relationships can impact you and help you achieve goals you never thought you could. Although I do aspire to be a PA, what I most aspire to be is a role model. I want little girls and boys to look up to me and know that it is possible to get an education. I want them to know that you don't have to be a product of your environment and that you can have better for yourself and your family.

Girl Scouts is really setting me up to be a great role model. I have learned so much about leadership and the importance of it from Girl Scouts. As far as steps to ensure I reach my goal, I need to continue to be a voice and uplift my community. There are always going to be moments where I want to give up but as long as I remember my end goal and keep persisting, I will achieve whatever I put my mind to.
