Xavier will attend either Trinity University or the University of New Mexico to study teaching.

What are your plans for next year (college, major, military, work, etc)? Why did you choose this?

I chose the teaching path because of all the teachers that I have had that have inspired me to make a difference especially in minority communities and with at risk youth. I would really enjoy making a difference in their lives. Hopefully, five years from now, I am back at this District as an educator. And hopefully I can help mold young minds like my teachers have molded me. 

 

Who has been the most influential to you in your education and why? (family member, teacher, coach, etc.)

 

Honestly, I have had a multitude of people who have helped on my education journey. My parents for sure have been big motivators. They have pushed me to try and be my very best. All of my teachers have been phenomenal, not only teaching me the curriculum but getting me to understand that education is important and I am here for a reason. 

As a leader of the Class of 2022, what is your hope for the Class of 2022 as they move on to the next chapter of their lives?

 

I would say that no matter what path each of my fellow graduates choose, that they become successful and productive in society. I feel like it's hard going from high school to life. It’s a big jump whether you are going to college, or the military, the workforce. It’s a big reality check and I believe and hope for the Class of 2022 that they can adjust and become successful in any journey they choose to take.
