How have SAISD schools shaped you into the person you are today?

“Coming to Travis ECHS was my first experience with SAISD, but I am so incredibly proud and honored to become a part of the SAISD family. I gravitate to communities in my life whether through Model UN or Academic Decathlon; SAISD provides a close-knit community that has uplifted my dreams and aspirations. As I am surrounded with ambitious and humble individuals, I find strength in my cohort. As I open acceptance letters to schools that I could have never possibly dreamed of, I feel grateful for the opportunity, resources, and support I have been graciously given.”

As a leader of the class of 2023, what is your hope for the Class of 2023 as they move on to the next chapter of their lives?

“Entering the world, I think there is undoubtedly uncertainty, and perhaps fear, but I am comforted knowing the resilience and strength of my peers. Looking back on the years, I attempt to conceptualize the growth, achievements, and aptitudes they have reached. I am so proud of the class of 2023. As we head towards the next stage of our lives, there will undoubtedly be hard times, but we are equipped and more than capable of overcoming them. It is so incredibly important to surround yourself with people who are always willing to cheer you on.”

How have SAISD schools shaped you into the person you are today?

“Coming from a lower income school district, I have learned to be very appreciative of the access to finite resources that are available. This taught me to be very resourceful and encouraged me to create opportunities for myself. And of course, Travis ECHS’s dual credit program has allowed me to achieve goals that I never thought were possible. I am proud to be a part of the SAISD family, and I plan to give back to the community that has helped shape me into the person I am today.”

As a leader of the class of 2023, what is your hope for the Class of 2023 as they move on to the next chapter of their lives?

“Throughout these 4 years of high school, I have learned just how much potential the Class of 2023 has. We have future leaders, doctors, engineers, politicians, and so much more. I hope that each and every one of them never forgets just how important their education is and how giftedly brilliant they are. I hope that they find the true purpose in the work they plan to pursue and understand what fuels their passions. I know the Travis Class of 2023 will leave a huge mark on the world while they share their Panther Pride.”
