SAISD launches mobile testing unit for COVID-19
01/12/2022

mobile unitTo continue serving the needs of its community, San Antonio ISD launched a new COVID-19 testing mobile unit at Alamo Convocation Center. A new partner, AccuReference, began providing the service on Tuesday, Jan. 11, in Lot E, which faces Tuleta Drive. Staff, students, and families may participate in drive-up COVID-19 testing Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Weekend hours are available during this Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend. The mobile unit will be available on Saturday, Jan. 15; Sunday, Jan. 16; and Monday, Jan. 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

The funding for this service is provided through the Texas Education Agency. Staff members and students receive free PCR or rapid tests. Family members receive free PCR tests or have the option to pay $30 for a rapid test.

Testers are asked to follow the signage at the testing site to ensure they enter the correct lane. Because of funding, one drive-up lane is provided for students and staff, and another drive-up lane is provided for family members. Adults will need to show identification and health insurance information, if available. Health insurance is not required to receive testing.

AccuReference is providing this mobile unit through the end of this school year. Hours are subject to change pending demand and availability.
