San Antonio ISD received the Outstanding School District Award at the Texas Energy Summit March 3.
Each year, the Summit recognizes individuals and organizations that have demonstrated outstanding or unique contributions to clean air through energy efficiency and renewable energy actions or programs.
The award was received at the conference by Senior Executive Director of Facilities Services Chris Salley and members of the Energy Management Team.
“It was a great honor and privilege to be recognized as an Outstanding School District at the 2022 Texas Energy Summit,” Director of Energy and Sustainability Aaron Stein said. “This event is hosted by experts in the energy industry from throughout Texas and this award speaks to the great progress SAISD has made in the areas of energy management and sustainability. We’re grateful for the support we have received to date and look forward to achieving many more great things.”
During the awards ceremony, Poe Middle School’s victory in the national Renew Our Schools competition and the 5-minute Shutdown Checklist created by student interns from CAST Tech in the Best Earth Ever project were mentioned, in addition to the district’s energy savings to date, as highlights of the district's efforts.

SAISD recibe premio en la Texas Energy Summit
San Antonio ISD recibió el premio de Outstanding School District Award en la Texas Energy Summit el 3 de marzo.
Cada año, la Cumbre reconoce a personas y organizaciones individuales que han demostrado aportaciones excepcionales o únicas al aire limpio a través de medidas o programas de eficiencia energética y energía renovable.
El premio fue recibido por el Director Ejecutivo Superior de los Servicios de Instalaciones, Chris Salley, junto con los miembros del Equipo de Administración de Energía.
“Fue un gran honor y privilegio ser reconocidos como un Distrito Escolar Excepcional en la Texas Energy Summit de 2022”, dijo el Director de Energía y Sostenibilidad, Aaron Stein. “Este evento fue presentado por expertos en la industria de energía de todo el estado y este premio reconoce el progreso que SAISD ha realizado en las áreas de administración y sostenibilidad de energía. Estamos agradecidos por el apoyo que hemos recibido hasta la fecha y esperamos lograr muchas más cosas geniales”.
Durante la ceremonia de premios, la victoria de Poe Middle School en el concurso de Renew Our Schools y la Lista de Control de Apagado creada por los estudiantes pasantes de CAST Tech en el proyecto de Best Earth Ever fueron mencionadas, junto con del ahorro energético del Distrito hasta la fecha, como puntos destacados de los esfuerzos del distrito.
