I hope you will join me in welcoming our community to the SAISD Familia! Below are two roll-up your sleeves and get in the trenches opportunities to support our SAISD Family of Schools. Registration block walking and the Ambassadors Program are campus-based support initiatives. Every one of us has a crucial role to play in enrollment and attendance, and the first opportunity to contribute in the 2022-2023 school year is around the corner.
Block walking
The goal for the district is to increase enrollment efforts for the 2022-2023 school year. In support of this effort, we are coordinating a cross-departmental support plan in collaboration with campuses. This will include a block walking campaign to address students in grades 7-12 who have not yet registered or did not attend school in the 2021-2022 school year. Volunteers will connect with families at their homes with friendly reminders about registration, and assist them in the registration process, if needed.
Block walking will take place during the weeks of July 18-29, and Transportation is providing buses to support this initiative. For those who sign up to volunteer, a meeting will be scheduled to provide further details prior to the event.

Ambassadors Program
The Ambassadors Program is an initiative to provide each campus with a district liaison that serves as an advocate for the school. Volunteers will serve as campus ambassadors for the duration of the 2022-2023 school year.
The Ambassadors may provide support with:

registration and recruitment
•
attendance
•
serving as a strategic thought partner for the campus
•
serving as liaison between the campus and the district
•
serving as a representative for the campus at district-wide meetings
•
serving as a customer service representative for the campus
•
attending campus-wide events such as concerts, extracurricular events, etc.
•
testing
An introductory meeting prior to the launch of the initiative will further explain how campus and district representatives will partner and collaborate.
