SAISD is on track to become a Commercial Driver's License third-party tester. The purpose of a third-party tester is to enable newly qualified candidates to earn their CDL more quickly as they avoid the lengthy wait times at DPS locations. SAISD has allocated funds for three employees in the transportation department to facilitate their certification as third-party testers and represent the district. These employees have completed a 40-hour course to meet certification requirements and are now preparing for the final phase of certification by participating in trainee testing at their local DPS office.
