Travis senior chosen as SAC Distinguished Graduate
distinguished gradYasmin Banuelos, a senior at Travis Early College High School, has been selected as the Distinguished Graduate in Liberal Arts at San Antonio College. Each year, the academic programs at SAC recognize one outstanding graduate from each program to honor during commencement.

Yasmin and the other SAC honorees receive special recognition at the commencement ceremony by wearing a cord to signify their status as well as have a special mark on their diplomas. Their names also are inscribed on department plaques at the conclusion of the academic year.

SAC will hold a virtual commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 9. Its traditional, in-person ceremony will be held in November.

By participating in a dual credit program with her high school and San Antonio College, Yasmin became the first in her family to attend college. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA while balancing volunteer work, academics, and extracurricular activities in both high school and college.

She plans to attend Texas Tech University in the fall.
