This summer, the San Antonio ISD Family and Community Engagement Services team has rolled out a series of virtual family workshops open to all SAISD families.

The July schedule for Family Power Hour includes the following classes:

July 8, 5 p.m.: Beat Summer Learning Loss

July 14, 11 a.m.: Crafting with Kids

July 16, 2 p.m.: Kids in the Kitchen

July 22, 5 p.m.: Explore what SAISD has to offer

July 28, 11 a.m.: Keep it Moving: Zumba

July 30, 2 p.m.: Preparing for Back to School

Most of the classes have sessions in both English and in Spanish, and family members are encouraged to participate in the activities presented alongside their students. By joining together as a family, the goal of the sessions is to help support children socially, emotionally, and academically. 

The mission of the Family and Community Engagement Services is to successfully develop and implement programs and strategies to engage parents and the community as partners to continually improve the academic performance of students.
