SAISD announces Teachers of the Year, Rising Stars
04/21/2021

teacher awardsDuring Teacher Appreciation Week, San Antonio ISD has released its annual list of Teachers of the Year and its first-year Rising Star Teachers for each campus. Schools across the District have selected 130 honorees – 90 Teachers of the Year and 40 Rising Stars.

“I am excited to congratulate our new cohort of Teachers of the Year and to celebrate our Rising Star Teachers,” said Superintendent Pedro Martinez. “A love for teaching and mentoring has always been at the heart of why teachers give so much of themselves to making a difference. Never has the love been stronger or more evident than this year. I thank our honorees for being the examples that they are and for choosing SAISD as their home.”

The Teacher of the Year award honors teachers who have been in the profession for at least three years and who excel in academic success, school leadership, and service to the school community. Each school’s Teacher of the Year was selected by a vote of his or her peers. Honorees will receive a certificate, personalized glass trophy, a $100 gift certificate to the Learning Zone, and a yard sign to place in their front yards.

The Rising Star award honors teachers who are still completing their first year of teaching. Principals nominate their finest first-year teachers who already demonstrate excellent practices. Honorees will receive a $50 gift certificate for the Learning Zone, an SAISD star key ring, a certificate of recognition, and a yard sign for their homes.

Please join us in celebrating this year’s honorees:
