Join us for our last virtual event of the year on Saturday, May 15, 2021. PD in PJs is a virtual event where you are welcome to wear your favorite pair of pajamas while engaging in professional development. You may view the PD in PJs catalog here.

In this new age of online instruction, how can you continue to keep students engaged? In this practical session, Dr. Rich Allen will model how to use the four walls of your online classroom to create dynamic lessons that improve understanding and recall. Discover how to build and maintain an ideal learning environment online.

Dr. Rich Allen is a highly regarded educator and master trainer, with a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology. His cognitive learning theory research, which provided understanding on how the brain receives, processes, stores, and recalls information, forms the basis for his radical approach to teaching, presenting, and facilitating.

Dr. Allen will be presenting this session twice at the May 15th PD in PJs virtual event. Register for sessions in Performance Matters.

SAISD is thrilled to welcome Dr. Jeff Duncan-Andrade to our May PD in PJs event. Dr. Duncan-Andrade is an Associate Professor of Raza Studies and Education at San Francisco State University. He is the founder of the Roses in Concrete Community School, a community responsive lab in East Oakland, the Teaching Excellence Network, and the Community Responsive Education Group.

Dr. Duncan-Andrade's transformational work on the elements of teaching in schools serving poor and working class children is recognized throughout the United States and as far abroad as New Zealand. His research interests  and publications span the areas of urban schooling and curriculum change, urban teacher development and retention, critical pedagogy, and cultural and ethnic studies.

Dr. Duncan-Andrade will begin the morning with a keynote at 8:00 a.m. and a fireside chat to follow. Please click here to register for this event.
