SAISD Home Connectivity Partnership Update - February 2024
SAISD is committed to connecting our familia with programs and resources to help them stay connected to the internet at home. Due to some recent changes at the city and federal level, we're on pause to revamp our supports. Here are some important updates:
- The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is winding down in April 2024. The ACP, which provides a $30/month discount to eligible families, is expected to run out of funding in April 2024. See the FCC's Fact Sheet for more information.
- SAISD's Connected Beyond the Classroom program is undergoing some changes. SAISD and the City of San Antonio partnered to build a network of towers that provide free internet to SAISD families in this area. To make the service even better, we're bringing in an experienced nonprofit that will not only help manage the network, they will also provide our community with access to lots of other resources. Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to our Summer 2024 launch.
