Advanced Learning Academy Valedictorian: Emmanuel Mendez

This year marks the first graduating class from the Advanced Learning Academy at the Fox Tech campus, and Emmanuel Mendez is making history as the class valedictorian. View more.

Brackenridge High School Valedictorian: Jesus Mancha

As a member of the first Brackenridge High School Early College cohort, Jesus Mancha says he is glad he took the leap to participate in a program that was new to the school when he joined as a freshman in 2015. View more.

Burbank High School Valedictorian: Cuauhtémoc Arizpe

Cuauhtémoc Arizpe believes that he can contribute most to society by making changes as an engineer. He has a wide range of interests and loves what he calls a ‘revolutionary spirit.’ View more.

Edison High School Valedictorian: Daisy Escobedo

Daisy Escobedo leads the Mighty Golden Bears marching band on the field as a drum major, the Student Council as the vice president, and the Class of 2019 as the valedictorian. View more.

Fox Tech High School Valedictorian: Austin Martinez

When it was time for Austin Martinez to decide where she wanted to go to high school, Fox Tech High School rose to the top of her list. She was excited for the opportunity to be a part of the school’s law magnet program. View more.

Highlands High School Valedictorian: Hiep Tran

Each of Hiep Tran’s three older siblings who graduated before him were in the top 10 of their respective classes, and Hiep is continuing on what could be seen as a family tradition as he was named valedictorian. View more.

Sam Houston High School Valedictorian: Camila Hernandez

Through hard work and determination, including taking multiple AP and dual credit classes, Camila Hernandez is graduating early at the age of 16. View more.

Jefferson High School Valedictorian: Issac Alvarez

In addition to his academics, including three AP courses this semester, Issac Alvarez plays trumpet in Jefferson’s intermediate mariachi band and enjoys gaming. View more.

Lanier High School Valedictorian: Katrina Gutierrez

Katrina Gutierrez’s passion for helping animals is spurring her on a path to be a veterinarian. After attending SAISD’s Northeast college tour, she decided to attend Smith College in Massachusetts, to study pre-med. View more.

St. Philip's Early College High School Valedictorian: Izabella Monreal

After seeing a lack of medical professionals who specialize in prosthetics, Izabella Moneral decided to go into the medical field. She will study human biology at The University of Texas at Austin in the fall. View more.

Travis Early College High School Valedictorian: Graciela Camacho

Graciela Camacho will attend Texas A&M in College Station to study construction science with a minor in horticulture. With all of the college credits she already has earned, she will graduate college in two years and begin her dream of being a business owner. View more.

Young Women's Leadership Academy Valedictorian: Janelle Arnold

Traditionally researchers aren’t published until they are at least in their 20s or beyond. But budding researcher and scientist Janelle Arnold already has her first publication under her belt, and she hasn’t even graduated high school. View more.
