In honor of National Reading Month, San Antonio ISD partnered with local education nonprofit SA YES to unveil the nonprofit’s Little Locker Project at two elementary schools. Kelly and Barkley-Ruiz elementary schools will unveil their Little Lockers during celebrations on Monday morning. 

The book-sharing lockers provide both students and local neighborhoods with yearlong educational resources and motivate community members of all ages to read every day. Little Lockers are always open, providing a variety of books during the school year and free arts and craft supplies in summer months. Throughout the year, SA YES restocks and maintains each Little Locker.

At no cost to the schools, each locker was made possible through donations made by Ancira and the Marathon Petroleum Corporation.
