About 400 high school seniors, including cheerleaders and athletes, at Jefferson High School will welcome Rey Feo LXXIII Augie Cortez, Jr. as he returns to his alma mater as part of his official Fiesta duties. This year’s Rey Feo is an 1988 graduate of Jefferson High School, home of the Mighty Mustangs. 

During a festive pep rally in the gym, Rey Feo will speak to the high school seniors about kindness and the many scholarship opportunities available to them through the Rey Feo Scholarship Foundation. 

During his reign, San Antonio's Rey Feo visits more than 73 schools to encourage thousands of young people to stay in school, respect their teachers and parents, and be good citizens. The visit is also an opportunity to encourage students to stay in school and pursue higher education for better opportunities. 

In his role as REY FEO LXXIII for 2022 Augie Cortez serves as a Goodwill Ambassador for the City of San Antonio.
