One San Antonio ISD student will walk away with a college scholarship to study art at the University of the Incarnate Word as the district and university debut its first Campus Collaborative Art Fair. Students from 11 SAISD choice school programs will be showing their work in the university’s art gallery. The collaborative effort may be the first time students from multiple schools coordinated the showcasing of their artistic talents in one location.
The opening reception will see the students’ art judged by local professionals who will be awarding first, second, and third place and honorable mention in three categories: 2D, 3D and collaborative work.
To cap off the night, judges will award a scholarship to attend UIW and study art to the senior who wins the Best of Show Award.
SAISD schools participating in the Campus Collaborative Art Fair include Advanced Learning Academy, CAST Med High School, CAST Tech High School, Cooper Academy at Navarro, Fox Tech High School, St. Philip’s Early College High School, Steele Academy, Travis Early College High School, Young Women’s Leadership Academy, YWLA Primary, and Young Men’s Leadership Academy.
More than 2,000 students are currently enrolled in art programs at these 11 SAISD choice schools, taught by 13 dedicated teaching artists.
