Aug 1 (Mon) – SAISD New Teacher Academy Kickoff

SAISD tackled the widespread teacher shortage and is now welcoming educators to the New Teacher Academy Kickoff. These teachers are eager to start the new school year and begin their journey of igniting a world of learning for their students. What is their passion, or their "Why"? These and other questions can get answered by talking to some of the SAISD New Teachers Class of 2022!

Aug 2 (Tues) – SAISD Leadership Summit
7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., Sam Houston High School, 4635 E. Houston St., 78220
New SAISD Superintendent Dr. Jaime Aquino lays out his vision for the future before district administration. Mariachis will greet district leadership as they enter the Leadership Summit at Sam Houston High School for breakfast. Along with Dr. Aquino, Board President Christina Martinez and Board Vice-President Alicia Sebastian, participating administrators will also hear from the people they primarily serve the most - their students. "Voices of our Children" will open each session to remind district leadership of the reason why we chose this profession: to make a positive impact on the lives of students.
