EXPERT VOICE: Nathan Graf, SAISD Transportation Senior Executive Director
Nathan Graf is available to speak about how the Transportation Department is contributing to the education of SAISD students. He can share how the department created a “Traveling Pop-Up Museum” to supplement what students learn about history.

In February of last year, the SAISD Transportation department turned a school bus into a teaching tool. To celebrate Black History Month, the Transportation team transformed a school bus into a museum on wheels. The pop-up traveling museum was a hit with campuses across the district. This past fall, the museum focus shifted to Hispanic Heritage Month. In both instances, bus drivers and monitors taught students about historical figures from the past, especially the stories behind many of the people for which SAISD schools are named. Now the Black History Month pop-up museum is back on the road! It has become so popular that the teaching tour will be rolling into March. More dates were added to accommodate campus requests.

The SAISD Pop-Up Museum will be visiting schools daily from February 27-March 6 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. See the bus tour schedule.
