April 5 (Wed) – Margil Elementary Shoe Giveaway
9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Margil Elementary, 1007 Perez St., 78207

The Assistance League of San Antonio is a non-profit that has one mission: to provide kids in need with what they need. Margil Elementary students will be the latest beneficiary of the group’s goodwill project. Every Margil student will be gifted a brand-new pair of sneakers.
 
April 5 (Wed) – SAISD Senior Job Fair
10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Palo Alto College – Rio Grande Building, 1400 W. Villaret Blvd., 78224

San Antonio ISD's Career & Technical Education team is hosting its first Senior Job Fair to help students apply for part time, full-time, or internships to begin their career journeys. Over 50 SAISD departments, industry partners, and local businesses will be present to meet with over 600 seniors from all campuses. 
 
April 5 (Wed) – Edison High School Bond 2020 Community Meeting
5:30 p.m., Edison High School, 701 Santa Monica Dr., 78212

SAISD Superintendent Dr. Jaime Aquino, and Board President Christina Martinez (District 6) will host a Community Meeting on Bond 2020 campus improvements at Edison High School. Project scope includes renovations to classrooms, library, support areas, art labs, small group learning spaces, makerspace or flex labs, site improvements, and HVAC, Technology, Safety and Security updates. The Edison project budget is $28,972,057. 
 
April 6 (Thurs) – SAISD’s “A Night in Old Tech”
5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Fox Tech High School, 637 N. Main Ave., 78205

It is a mariachi tradition unlike any other. The annual “A Night in Old Tech” features mariachi performances from the seven SAISD high school squads, six of those who qualified for the UIL State Mariachi Festival in February. Performances by the Fox Tech High School/Advanced Learning Academy/CAST Tech High School sub-varsity units will also take place. It promises to be a fun evening with food, fun, games, and great mariachi music!
 
April 6 (Thurs) – SAISD Bond 2020 Community Meeting
6 p.m., Jefferson High School, 723 Donaldson Ave., 78201

SAISD Trustee Ed Garza (District 7) will host a Community Meeting on Bond 2020 campus improvements at Jefferson High School. Project scope includes restoration of the original 1930s building exterior, restoration of library, restoration of auditorium, restoration of interior common spaces, and HVAC, Technology, Safety and Security updates. The Jefferson project budget is $32,315,630. 
 
April 6 (Thurs) – SAISD Winter Guard Showcase
7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Alamo Convocation Center, 110 Tuleta Dr., 78207

All SAISD comprehensive high schools will be sending their band Color Guards to the Alamo Convocation Center for a one-night showcase dedicated to the flag crews who wave their campus colors loud and proud.
 
April 15 (Sat) – SAISD Fiesta Educator Career Fair

San Antonio ISD is kicking off Fiesta with its biggest hiring event of the year. The district is recruiting teachers, counselors, nurses and more at an Educator Career Fair at Lanier High School. There will be on-site hiring and in-person interviews – plus mariachis, folklorico and Fiesta celebrations. SAISD offers teacher salaries starting at more than $55,000 with opportunities to earn up to $26,500 through the Master Teacher Initiative. During online registration, educators unable to attend in-person can request to connect with a recruiter at a later date.
