June 19 (Mon) – SAISD closed for Juneteenth holiday
All SAISD offices and campuses will be closed on Monday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. Offices and summer schools will resume normal hours on Tuesday, June 20.
 
June 20 (Tues) – 20 SAISD graduated seniors receive $1,500 scholarships from C.H. Guenther & Son to pursue food service careers

Twenty 2023 graduates from San Antonio ISD will be awarded $1,500 scholarships by C.H. Guenther & Son (CHG) to pursue careers in food service or a related industry. Most of the 20 students awarded the CHG scholarship are seeking careers in the culinary industry, agriculture, business, hospitality and tourism, and event management. The graduates, representing 10 different campuses, were participants in SAISD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.
 
June 20 (Tues) – SAISD Public Hearing and Board Meeting + Press Conference

The SAISD Board of Trustees will hold its regularly scheduled meeting at the central administrative office. The public hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. to present the proposed budget for 2023-24. The regularly scheduled June board meeting will immediately follow at approximately 5:45 p.m.
Following the open session, a recess will be called to hold a press conference with Superintendent Dr. Jaime Aquino and Board President Christina Martinez.
 
June 22 (Thurs) – SAISD Foundation to hold drive to collect luggage and dorm room supplies for first-generation college students 
Noon to 6 p.m., Alamo Convocation Center, 110 Tuleta Drive, 78212
The San Antonio ISD (SAISD) Foundation, in collaboration with Joe A. Gamez Law Firm, will host a Luggage and Dorm Room Supplies drive to support up to 200 of SAISD’s newest alumni who are headed off to college. Interested community members are asked to donate new or gently used luggage and new dorm room essentials. This is a drive-up event, and the community is invited to come drop off items at the Alamo Convocation Center.

June 24 (Sat.) – SAISD hosts Auxiliary Career Fair 
9 a.m. to Noon, SAISD Central Office, 514 W. Quincy St., 78212

SAISD is hosting a career fair for carpenters, construction helpers, cooks, custodians, drivers, electricians, heavy equipment operators, police officers, plumbers, roofers and more. There will be in-person interviews and on-site hiring opportunities. SAISD offers pay increases for the 2023-2024 school year, low-cost health and dental benefits, overtime opportunities, and shift work.
