DUNK basketball assembly aims to reduce distracted driving

Young Men’s Leadership Academy, Basketball Gym, 415 Gabriel St., 78202

On only the second day of school, students at the Young Men’s Leadership Academy will learn a very important lesson that will prove to be a life-long benefit.

Set to a basketball theme, this student assembly is a slam DUNK in positive messaging on teen driving. Students will learn four rules of the game:

D – Don’t be a distracted driver. Obey laws.
U – Uninterrupted attention to the road.
N – Never text. Never drink and drive.
K – Know your limits and ability as a driver.

“This is a fun and positive way to get the message out about distracted driving,” said Principal Derrick Brown. “Both students and staff are sure to enjoy it.”
