This is not a public event.  Members of the construction team, SAISD officials and students/staff from the campus will be participating in the ceremony.

What:
SAISD invites media to observe a “Topping Out Ceremony” for the Harry H. Rogers College Prep Middle School.

The topping out ceremony is an age-old tradition in which the tallest and last beam is placed on a project. It marks a major milestone for everyone on the project. It commemorates the hard work that the entire project team has contributed to reaching this day. 

The last beam is painted and signed by the district’s project team, architects, contractors, key school personnel, and the members of the construction trades that have been working on the SAISD 2020 Bond Project.  Student athletes and coaches from the campus will also participate to celebrate work on their new competition gym. 

When:
Aug. 24 (Thurs), 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. at Harry H. Rogers College Prep Middle School, located at 314 Galway Street, San Antonio, TX 78223 
(Enter construction site via the parking lot near the main building entrance.)

Signing 
Students, special guests, and project team members and workers from General Contractor: Flintco, LLC, and Architect: Pfluger Architects will be signing the beam.  

The beam will be installed later due to construction safety protocols.
 
Information: 
Once complete, the SAISD Bond 2020 improvements for the Rogers campus will include a new competition gym with supporting spaces such as lockers, multipurpose, training, weight and mat rooms; Upgrades to the existing gym; and conversion of the existing secondary gym into a fine arts facility; relocation of the library to first floor; and renovation of the existing auditorium. Estimated completion of the project is set for the 2nd Quarter of 2024.
