The Edison High School drumline will kickoff the annual SAISD State of the District address, demonstrating the energy that has taken off within the District since Superintendent Pedro Martinez began leading the charge. Immediately following the drumline entry, Los Caballeros Distinguidos (The Distinguished Gentlemen) from Briscoe Elementary School will lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
Martinez will address the business and community members gathered before him, sharing with them the successes and challenges the District has seen over the past year. Since his last State of the District address, the District has earned a B rating from the State of Texas.
Richard Perez, President and CEO of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, will moderate a Q&A session after the keynote address with questions submitted from attendees.
During the closing program, the Lamar Elementary School Chimes and Choir will perform. Students from Cyber P-TECH at Sam Houston will serve as ushers.
This annual event, which highlights SAISD’s progress and students, is co-hosted by the SAISD Foundation, the Hispanic and San Antonio Chambers of Commerce.
