WHAT: As part of Teacher Appreciation Week, San Antonio ISD is honoring its outstanding first-year Rising Star teachers. The Rising Star award honors teachers who are still completing their first year of teaching. Principals nominated their finest first-year teachers who already demonstrate excellent practices for this prestigious award. A total of 46 teachers were nominated.

MORE: This award honors the new teachers in SAISD that have made the biggest impact on their campus classrooms. Rising Star new teachers demonstrate instructional excellence and leadership and embody the SAISD Core Values and traditions. SAISD will select four of these campus honorees as district-wide Rising Stars in the categories of early childhood, elementary, middle school and high school.
