What:   School courtyard invaded by extra-large centipede on Halloween weekend

                Use Breeden Ave. parking lot and enter courtyard from Breeden Ave.

Not all crawlies are creepy, even when they come to life on Halloween weekend.

Volunteers will stencil a colorful, alphabet-themed centipede in the courtyard at Twain Dual Language Academy on Sunday afternoon. Each body part is one of the ABCs that young children learn to recite at an early age. No harm, but only educational benefit and delight, will come from the making of this creature.

Other imaginative additions to the courtyard will activate children’s natural desire to be in motion, encouraging them to play hopscotch, to Jump! and to follow other action-oriented words and designs in both English and Spanish for this dual language campus. 

Alumni volunteers, in groups of four family members or close acquaintances for proper safety protocols, are gathering for the first of several playground stenciling projects in San Antonio ISD. Throughout the school year, at least 10 schools will benefit from the beautification initiative designed to activate outdoor spaces at SAISD schools.
