What: Elf on the Shelf hitches ride on fire truck to surprise young learners

Where: Nelson Early Childhood Education Center, 1014 Waverly Ave.

The notorious Elf on the Shelf, who looks surprisingly like Nelson Early Childhood Education Center Principal Marisa Mendez, is not content to sit quietly this holiday season. The elfish antics started on Monday of this week when a video of her in action tipped off the little learners on campus. The students also have spotted the elf sitting on the school’s second story ledge, playing on the playground and peeking around trees on campus.

Inspired, the students have been creating their own elves to take home with them.

It is rumored that today, the elf plans to surprise the students by hitching a ride on a red fire engine and parading it through the neighborhood to campus.
