Parents throughout the San Antonio area are invited to watch a virtual parent town hall on COVID-19 vaccinations. San Antonio ISD and South Texas Allergy & Asthma Medical Professionals (STAAMP) are co-hosting the town hall.
Questions specific to the COVID-19 vaccine that parents may have – either for themselves or their children – will be answered by Dr. Erika Gonzalez, CEO and President of STAAMP and STAAMP Clinical Research. Questions specific to vaccinations and COVID-19 safety within San Antonio ISD will be answered by Deputy Superintendent Patti Salzmann and Associate Superintendent Toni Thompson.
Children ages 12 and older are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.
SAISD has a strong vaccination program and will continue to work with local health providers to ensure opportunities for all eligible students, families and staff to get vaccinated. The district will continue to monitor the timeline for students who are 5-11 years of age to receive the vaccine.
