SAISD and Community Labs to offer free COVID testing to the community on Friday

The first day of school for San Antonio ISD students is Monday, Aug. 9. Students and campus staff are returning to schools after summer break, a time when they may not have had regular access to free COVID testing. 

As a result, SAISD, through its collaboration with Community Labs, is making free COVID testing available to all community members on Friday, Aug. 6. All participants are welcome, not just SAISD staff and families.

Community Labs identifies asymptomatic silent spreaders of COVID-19 by providing 24-hour test results, scale, accuracy, and a less invasive, self-administered test that swabs the front of the nostril. With this assurance testing strategy, schools and businesses can create COVID-19 Safety Zones and a pathway for schools to open, people to return to work, and communities to recover.
