On Monday, December 11, 2023, Janeth Renshaw-Montero, Schenck's Digital Librarian, was recognized with an award for her use of ClassLink Analytics. In the 2022-23 school year, Ms. Renshaw-Montero launched ClassLink Analytics 52 times with more than 8 hours of use.
When asked about the benefits of ClassLink Analytics, Ms. Renshaw-Montero explained how she uses the usage data available to improve student performance. "I know that the district works very hard to provide resources for our students, families, and communities and I feel it is important that our libraries ensure that these resources are being used," Ms. Renshaw-Montero explained. She uses Analytics data to decide which applications to feature in mini-lessons on Sora, Beanstack, and other digital resources with each grade level. To increase students' time reading out of class, Ms. Renshaw-Montero ran digital reading challenges over the breaks, and and rewarded the top readers in Sora with classroom ice-cream parties or popcorn parties.
Ms. Renshaw-Montero also supports her teachers in using the digital databases available and provides ways to include the use of PebbleGo, Britannica Escolar, and Learn360 in their classrooms.
