 Nathan Graf is the Senior Executive Director of Transportation and Vehicle Maintenance for the San Antonio Independent School District.  Mr. Graf earned a master’s degree in business administration (M.B.A.) from The University of Texas at Austin, earning the distinction of a Sord Honors Graduate.  He also earned a B.S. in Psychology from The University of Houston, graduating with Honors.  Mr. Graf served for 15 years in various management roles, each with increasing responsibility, for The Houston Independent School District (HISD); 9 of these years were in transportation.  Under his leadership HISD earned many industry awards and recognition for the efficiency and effectiveness of their transportation services from organizations such as The Council of the Great City Schools, The 100 Best Fleets in the Americas, The City of Houston, the Propane Education and Research Council, District Administration Magazine, Houston-Galveston Area Council, Telly Awards, School Transportation News, School Bus Fleet Magazine, and the National Association for Pupil Transportation. He has authored and managed many grants worth several million dollars to introduce propane school buses into both the HISD and SAISD fleets.  Mr. Graf is also an active member with The Council of the Great City Schools performing annual operational reviews of other transportation departments across the nation.

  Cesario M. Flores is the Director of Local Routes and Field Trips.  He is a proud native of San Antonio and earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from St. Mary’s University.  Mr. Flores has over 15 years of experience in transportation, logistics, operations, and inventory management in the private and public sector.  Early in his career, he completed the national ranked Enterprise Management Training Program where he was recognized as the Top MVP Performer for South Texas in 2007.  Mr. Flores continued his corporate career as the Senior Traffic Operations Manager for Kinetic Concepts Inc (KCI) where he managed the Fleet Program for the entire United States regarding the acquisition, disposal, movement, and maintenance of a fleet of over 1,500 vehicles. He transitioned into the public sector as the Mobility Senior Services Manager for the City of San Antonio.  Mr. Flores served on the Accident Review Board to review vehicle accidents and workplace injuries across the City departments to determine preventability and make recommendations to remain in compliance with established risk management policies. He is a graduate of the Alex Briseño Leadership Development Program (ABLDP) sponsored by the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce that is focused on building leaders to become a change agent in San Antonio through strategic planning, building great teams, improving quality both operationally and culturally, and creating and sustaining professional and organizational results. Mr. Flores joined the SAISD Transportation Team in July 2017.  He is responsible for overseeing over 160 routes for all elementary, middle, and high schools.  Mr. Flores also oversees over 15,000 yearly field trips for every athletic and extracurricular program in the district. Mr. Flores loves spending time with his family and is an avid San Antonio Spurs Basketball fan.


  Lisa Barnhouse is the Director of Special Education routes.  Ms. Barnhouse received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Concordia University in 2006 and has over 17 years of experience working in different areas of school districts.  When her daughters started grade school, she decided to go back to college to finish earning her degree to show her daughters that if mom can do it, so can you!  While attending college in the evenings, working at LaVernia ISD during the day and raising a family, she accomplished her goal in 2006 and is proud to say that her daughter Shelby earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 12/18 and daughter Stephanie is on target to earn her Bachelor’s degree in 12/19.  Through the Texas Teachers Certification program, she earned her certificate to teach EC-4 and was an elementary teacher at Kenedy ISD and East Central ISD.  Ms. Barnhouse previously served as the Trainer Supervisor for the SAISD Transportation Department.  Under her leadership she dramatically decreased accidents yearly.  She received a Telly Award for her SAISD School Bus Expectations video to help teach students about the expectations on the school bus.  Ms. Barnhouse is very dedicated to her staff, students, parents, and co-workers who serve at SAISD and looks forward to providing the safest transportation for our future.  Ms. Barnhouse loves the country life with her animals and enjoys hiking, exploring, ice cream, sweets, and spending time with her family.


  Miguel Flores is the Director of Fleet Maintenance for the San Antonio Independent School District.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Management from the University of Maryland (1999).  He also has an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland, and an Associate’s Degree in Aircraft Powerplant Technology from the Community College of the Air Force.  He served 30 years in the United States Air Force and achieved the highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant.  Early in his career, he held leadership positions as Alert Aircraft Area Supervisor, and Weapons Storage Area Supervisor.  After four years, he joined the aircraft maintenance field where he held leadership positions as Aircraft Phase Inspection Chief, Jet Engine Test Cell Shop Chief, Jet Engine Intermediate Maintenance Shop Chief, Aircraft Specialists Chief, Quality Control Inspector and Propulsion Branch Chief.  He served eight of these years in Europe in support of the Cold War and Gulf War efforts.  After returning from overseas, he advanced to serve in Major Air Command positions as Propulsion Liaison Chief, Chief of Propulsion Systems, Chief of Fighter Aircraft Section, Chief of Propulsion Acquisition and Logistics, and Chief of Air Vehicle Acquisition and Logistics.  He led the command staff overseeing the maintenance of over 1600 aircraft and equipment at 14 operating locations valued over $76B.  He played a key role authoring command policy for more than 5000 aircraft maintenance personnel, and was responsible for evaluating unit compliance with Air Force directives.  After a successful Air Force career, Mr. Flores joined the SAISD Transportation Team in March 2008.  He immediately led the successful integration of 75 new buses to the fleet that year.  He also upgraded local maintenance procedures by introducing laptop computers and diagnostic software for effective troubleshooting and repair.  Mr. Flores also equipped the shop to repair emission components instead of sending them to vendors saving SAISD $10K annually, and unnecessary school bus down time.  Recently, he played a key role earning two grants to purchase 16 new propane buses and reduce operating costs.
