What is Language Links?

To ensure effective communication and engagement with our Limited English Proficient (LEP) parents SAISD now provides language support to assist in the communication of academic information between schools and parents to increase engagement in school activities and district-wide functions. This internal resource provides written translation, on-site interpretation, and over-the-phone interpretation services to our SAISD families district-wide. Interpretation and Translation services will be offered to our families to help in SAISD's mission of providing a complete educational experience to prepare them for success beyond graduation.

Resources for staff members

Our Mission

Language Links is SAISD's initiative to mitigate language barriers by contracting with translation and interpretation services for staff to communicate with families in their native language if needed.

Families, if you are in need of interpretation/translation services please contact your campus to make this request.

Interpretation Services

Provides families with real time spoken communication in their native language.

Translation Services

Provides families with written communication such as letters, presentations, flyers, etc. from English to their native language.

Language Services

Additional services are available in other languages upon request.

Frequently Asked Questions

The turn around time for all requests, including interpretation and translation services, is 5-7 business days. This will allow enough time for the language needed is properly secured.

The service is free for all requests made by staff members. The requests must be made for an SAISD family member during academic school functions including parent teacher conferences, registration, parent meetings, presentations, etc.

All SAISD staff members may request the service for families. If you are a family member, please contact your campus.
