Overview
San Antonio ISD is committed to working together with all families to provide the best education
for all students and firmly believes a partnership between the home and the school must exist for
this to occur. Our goal is to provide a platform where families can express their views and to
assist in problem solving.
The Texas Educational Agency (TEA) ensures Title I funds are used for the improvement of
basic programs operated by the district. Title I funds are federal funding streams that were created to ensure
economically disadvantaged children receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, by
helping to close the academic achievement gap.
It is very important that families know that their involvement in the development of this Parent and Family Engagement Policy is critical so that all students will benefit from their time in school and the
services provided by the Title I, Part A program per Public Law 114-95 Section 1116 (a).
