Welcome to SAISD (San Antonio Independent School District) Athletics! It is a blessing to hold the position of Sr. Executive Director of Athletics for our many student-athletes and coaches in the San Antonio Independent School District. I am excited to welcome you to an atmosphere that cultivates academic and athletic excellence. SAISD athletics has a history rich in traditions and successes, both on and off the field.  Athletics changed my life and I know the impact it can have on our student-athletes. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead and serve you.

First, let me tell you a little about myself. Upon graduating from McCollum High School (1990), I attended Baylor University and received a BS in Special Education (1995) and then went on to receive a Master of Education Administration from Texas A&M Kingsville (2002). I also earned a Superintendent Certification from Texas State University in 2017. My entire professional career has been in education. First as a special education teacher and coach (football and baseball) then as an administrator of both primary and secondary levels. For 27 years, I have served in many leadership roles and capacities within Harlandale Independent School District. Prior to joining SAISD, I was principal of Harlandale High School for 9 years. I am a proud husband to my beautiful wife, Rosey and a proud dad to our darling children, Andrew (5) and Alyssa (3). Along with spending time with my lovely family, we enjoy sports year around. You will always catch us rooting on my Baylor Bears, Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, and The Houston Astros!

In SAISD, our athletic administration, staff and coaches are committed to instilling core values of discipline, integrity and sportsmanship in our student athletes while competing to their maximum potential. We believe athletics is an extension of the classroom and is a fundamental key to success in life beyond school.  The athletic department's sole purpose is to provide opportunities that will equip our student-athletes to achieve personal growth through academics and athletic competition.
